Ivan Khan, MD, MPH
Ivan Khan, MD, MPH is the President & CEO of Khan's Tutorial (KT). At KT, Dr. Khan oversees the various departments & leads the senior team to preserve KT's mission to deliver high quality tutoring at the lowest prices & to educate for life. He founded Khan Foundation in 2013 to decrease disparities in education & leadership opportunities that many low-income students & young women face. At Khan Foundation, Dr. Khan works with the Directors to oversee the completion of our 3 mission goals.
Vikas (Vik) Pathani is a Portfolio Manager at JPMorgan. Mr. Pathani received a Bachelors of Science in Finance with Honors and graduated at the top of his class (Smeal College of Business Student Marshall) from the Pennsylvania State University. His interests include health, fitness, and giving back to the community
Diana is a Columbia Business School student and a native New Yorker. After graduating from Harvard University in 2012, Diana helped build Locus Analytics, a revolutionary big data analytics company pursuing applications in education and economic development. Diana is passionate about NYC education as a founding board member of PASSNYC, Program Manager for DreamChasers Harlem initiative, and volunteer at Young Eisner Scholars Program.
Ali Najmi, JD
Ali Najmi, JD is an active criminal defense attorney and a community organizer of South Asians & other Democrats, mainly serving Queens & Brooklyn. Mr. Najmi who received his BA from Oberlin college and law degree from CUNY Law School has worked closely with the Democratic Party of Queens to increase South Asian voting & civic responsibility. Mr. Najmi has served on several campaigns of prominent rising stars in both NY State & City public service.
Ramon E. Gist, MD
Ramon E. Gist, MD is a Pediatric Physician. Dr. Gist specializes in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, which he began in 2012. However, Dr. Gist has been a board certified physician since 2009. Dr. Gist received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York/ Health Center at Stony Brook in 2006. Prior to that he attended Sophie Davis Medical Program focusing on Pulmonary Critical Care.
Namita Mehta is an associate at Morrison Mahoney LLP. She received her undergratuadte education and law degree at University of Connecticut and George Washington University. Namita's areas of practice include dental malpractice, professional liability, and construction litigation. Namita has spent the last several years of practice successfully defending medical professionals and has handled all aspects of malpractice claims from intake to final resolutions.
Brian Philip, MD
Dr. Brian Philip, MD, is an anesthesiologist with a passion for holistic health, fitness, and giving back to his community. Dr. Philip earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education and his Doctor of Medicine from Stony Brook Medical School. Prior to pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Philip was a fitness instructor and a dance instructor. One thing he is most passionate about is the education and mentoring of at-risk youth. Dr. Philip mentors’ young minority high school students on the importance of pursuing an education. Growing up in a struggling, immigrant family taught Dr. Philip the importance of giving back to the community.
Jason M. Clark
Jason M. Clark is an assistant attorney general in the Office of New York State Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman. He practices in the Attorney General’s Harlem Regional Office. In this role, he serves a large constituency in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx covering issues such as consumer frauds, civil rights, and public advocacy litigation. He represents the hardworking people of the State of New York by bringing justice to a community with pressing needs for legal services. Jason received his A.B. degree from Princeton University where he majored in American History and his JD from the University of Michigan Law School. In 2015, Jason received the National Bar Association’s “40 Under 40” and “Excellence in Activism” Awards.
Tasneem Hoque, MD
Dr. Tasneem Hoque is an attending Pediatric Cardiologist at Winthrop University Medical Center. Dr. Hoque received her Medical Degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center & later completed her residency in Pediatrics at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Hoque completed her fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in Pediatric Cardiology. Dr. Hoque is an avid runner, and has been active in increasing awareness for South Asians around health & wellness.
Ryan Jones is an institutional salesman at Barclays in New York. Mr. Jones received a Bachelors of Science in Finance from Hofstra University’s Zarb School of Business, graduating with honors in 2009. Mr. Jones has also been an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. since 2007. Via high school mentorship and community service programs, he has driven some of their core tenets including the promotion of academic excellence and service and advocacy for our communities. His interests include working with youths, fitness, motorcycles, tattoos and cooking.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about Khan Foundation’s mission and who has a track record of board leadership. Selected Board Members will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. His/her accomplishments will allow him/her to attract other well-qualified, high-performing Board Members.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Extensive professional experience with significant executive leadership accomplishments in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector
- A commitment to and understanding of Khan Foundation’s beneficiaries, preferably based on experience
- Savvy diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and persuading, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of Khan Foundation’s beneficiaries
- Service on Khan Foundation’s Board of Directors is without remuneration, except for administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to Board Members’ duties.
